Vice-President of BGBA

 Hello,

Since the age of 16, I have loved motorcycles. There were no influences; no one had a motorcycle that I knew, however, after seeing one on the road, it was love at first site! It was different, unique and exciting. Those are the words that most people use to describe the motorcycle culture. Now that I ride, I’m inclined to believe that there should be a new language geared towards this cool environment where you can be yourself. The culture, the people, the biker community is embracalicious (new word). I love the feeling of the breeze on my face, the total relaxation of my mind, body, spirit and soul! Too deep, maybe, but that’s why I ride!

My name is Beverly and I go by “Sweeet HD”. I grew up in a small town that borders the Tri-State area, Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia; however, I reside in Miami, Florida. I attended a HBCU, Kentucky State University, in Frankfort, Kentucky and crossed the burning sands into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in the fall of 1979. I believe that those who knew me then, would be just as surprised as people are today, when they hear me talking about riding one of my two Harleys, the FatBoy or the Street Glide. Gone are the days when a biker chick could be spotted a mile away.

A friend once asked the question, “ What would the motorcycle community be without the style, grace, beauty and sassiness of the female rider?” Before anyone could answer, he stated he loves seeing women ride so he doesn’t want to think about it! So to all my sistahs of the pavement, I say, “ keep lovin and livin this biker life!”

I am Vice-President of Black Global Bikers Association, Inc. (BGBA). The whole concept is geared towards connecting all who share in the love of motorcycles, pure and simple. Through Black Global Bikers Association, Inc. we have been able to link folks nationally and internationally, to a cool culture with the click of a mouse! Our Association takes motorcycle networking to a whole new level and I am extremely proud to be part of such a positive movement!

Ride Safe, Drive Safe and Be Safe,
